Exclusive: BlueCo Multiclub Way to Success
Welcome to our Weekly Bluecoxtra Insight Chronicle.
This week, we are going to look at BlueCo generally, focusing on Chelsea Football Club in England and Racing Club Strasbourg Alsace in France, and explore how BlueCo leaders can enhance certain aspects to make this project The Best Multiclub in the World.
We've observed that some journalists and pundits criticize and condemn BlueCo’s Project whenever they have the opportunity. We are not here to write a rejoinder because we are not in the position to do so. Instead, #BlueCoXtra aims to provide accurate data and correct information to counter the misinformation circulating about the BlueCo Consortium project.
Let’s start with the Chelsea Football Team: This project has faced significant criticism, especially after Chelsea finished the 2022/2023 season in 12th position. Despite squad upgrades in the summer, the team has hovered between 8th and 10th positions, leading pundits to condemn the project. However, it's important to note that more than 60% of players from the 2022/23 season have left the club, and the current season (2023/24) sees a fresh project with a squad full of talented U23 players.
According to Sofascore, the average age of the current Chelsea squad is 22.3 years, making it the youngest team across the major Six European Football Leagues: England, Spain, Italy, France, Portugal, and German leagues. The closest team in age are Toulouse and AS Monaco (with 22.7 years), the former club of Chelsea's Sporting Director, Laurence Stewart.
The lack of proper game plans from the coach, coupled with players getting injured in 1 out of 3 matches this season, has resulted in inconsistent performance and results. We believe that with proper coaching and solutions to the injury issue, Chelsea should soon qualify for the European Cup competition. It's commendable that part of the solution BlueCo leaders are pursuing is the recruitment of another physiotherapist, Ed Richmond from Leicester City.
Another aspect of the project facing criticism is the RC Strasbourg first team, especially from some sections of fans in France. Despite the negativity, it's essential to understand the efforts behind the scenes. During January, we expected RC Strasbourg leaders to reinforce Patrick Vieira’s team, especially with a winger and left-back, but unfortunately, no signings were made.
There have been conflicting reports regarding BlueCo's involvement in transfer decisions at RC Strasbourg. While some narratives suggest BlueCo leaders denied RC Strasbourg the opportunity to sign desired players, others indicate that BlueCo leaders offered players to RC Strasbourg, which was rejected by the club's leadership. This discrepancy highlights a potential conflict of interest.
We are proud to highlight the achievements of Chelsea Women, currently leading their table, as well as the success of Chelsea's U21 and U18 projects. Similarly, in France, RCSA Women, U21 feminine, U21, and U18 teams are performing exceptionally well. These successes reflect the dedication of coaches and supporting staff.
Here are some recommendations on how to transform BlueCo’s Multiclub Project:
1. We recommend that the U23 ideology be adjusted. These BlueCo projects require leaders who can guide the young talents we are recruiting. Chelsea Women are excelling because they have great leaders and young players among them.
2. We suggest adjustments to the pattern of play at both Chelsea and RC Strasbourg. If we critically examine the Red Bull Multiclub Model: whenever players from RB Salzburg join their headquarters club, RB Leipzig, they already know where, what, and how to play. Their approaches are very similar, which facilitates players' adaptations. We recommend that BlueCo clubs should adopt common tactics, communicate regularly, and share ideas.
3. We recommend an adjustment in the management of RC Strasbourg. There is a need for a Sporting Director at RC Strasbourg, someone who can collaborate effectively with Chelsea's Sporting Director. Just as we are writing, Sam Wallace of The Telegraph broke the exclusive news that BlueCo leaders have made an offer to poach Brighton’s Head of Recruitment, Sam Jewell. To all of us at BlueCO Xtra, this is good news. Why?
Sam Jewell comes from a footballing background, with his father being a notable EFL manager, particularly at Wigan Athletic. Jewell has made his mark at Brighton, despite not being in charge for long. Last summer, he signed a handful of excellent players for the Seagulls, including Joao Pedro from Watford for £29m (who has scored 19 goals and provided two assists in all competitions this season), and Valentin Barco from Boca Juniors for a minuscule fee of just £8m. Deals of this nature are precisely what BlueCo needs, especially at RC Strasbourg, to build success.
The prospect of him working with Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart is exciting. Many are unaware that Manchester United leaders are also considering signing Sam Jewell, especially after they conclude the signing of Newcastle Sporting Director, Dan Ashworth. But some groups of Chelsea fans don’t see any goodness in bringing Jewell to BlueCo Multiclub, they consistently criticize the initiatives of BlueCo leaders. The question, "Why Brighton's Director again? Why this? Why that?"
Telegraph added that "The offer of the job at Chelsea (BlueCo) is understood to be a global scouting role in charge of negotiations for both the London club and Strasbourg in Ligue 1, also owned by the Behdad Eghbali and Todd Boehly consortium. It is not yet clear whether Jewell has made a final decision."
We believe that if the deal goes through, the recruitment teams in both clubs will be on the same page, fulfilling the dream of BlueCo leaders.
4. We acknowledge the recruitment of Josh Marsh as the Loan Manager. This is indeed a clear vision of BlueCo leaders. Recruitment of Swansea's Head of Football Operations will help BlueCo loan players to appropriate clubs where they can develop, rather than sitting on the bench.
5. We appreciate the plan to appoint Todd L. Kline, the former Chief Commercial Officer of Tottenham. Both BlueCo clubs need to generate more revenue, and we believe his vast experience will be a great addition to these exciting projects.
6. We also recommend that BlueCo leaders should consider purchasing an additional club in a lower league, such as Belgium or the Netherlands, to alleviate the pressure on RC Strasbourg alone. And finally, We encourage our Sporting Directors to commence their recruitment efforts as early as possible.
In conclusion, the BlueCo project harbors immense potential to become the epitome of Multiclub excellence. Implementation of these recommendations can pave the way for unprecedented success and solidify BlueCo's position as a global leader in football management and development.
